The Infinite Monkey Theorem and MicroStar Logistics Announce The Launch of Wine Kegging Partnership
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., June 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Following Gov. John Hickenlooper's recent signing of a bill allowing wine co-packing in Colorado, the innovative minds behind The Infinite Monkey Theorem (IMT) have teamed up with the leading keg solutions provider, MicroStar, to announce a joint enterprise to keg wines in Colorado under the name Iron Monkey Kegging Co. With a strategic location in the heart of Denver, the newly announced company is positioning itself to become a leading wine kegging company, providing state-of-the-art keg filling services to wineries and distributors.
Wineries from Colorado and across the country will be able to send their wines in environmentally friendly, quality-controlled, and cost-effective bulk containers to Iron Monkey Kegging Co's new premises, in Denver's River North Arts District, at the same facility as IMT's current winery. MicroStar will provide a fleet of new kegs, specifically dedicated for use with wine, and will manage related keg logistics.
"Consumers and retailers are looking for innovation from the wine industry and wineries are looking for high quality, eco-friendly, and economical ways to deliver their wine to the market," said Ben Parsons, IMT's Founder and CEO. "Wine in kegs is the perfect way to meet these needs. By partnering with MicroStar, we and our wine customers will benefit from the keg logistics expertise MicroStar has developed over 20 years."
"The launch of Iron Monkey Kegging Co marks a milestone for both of our companies. We are thrilled to partner with IMT to help deliver quality wine in a revolutionary way," said Michael Hranicka, MicroStar's President and CEO. "Ben and the team at IMT are pioneers focused on what's important to wine consumers today."
Kegged wine has many benefits, namely, consumers get a better glass of wine each time. Wine stays fresher longer and there is no oxidation thanks to the use of a blend of nitrogen and CO2 to push the wine through high-grade draught systems. There is also less packaging, which means it has a smaller carbon footprint and costs less, compared to glass. One keg used for wine over its lifetime eliminates 3,000 bottles, corks, foils and labels. Lastly, a keg of wine is much easier to handle than its 26-bottle equivalent. About The Infinite Monkey Theorem
Ben Parsons founded The Infinite Monkey Theorem winery in 2008 in a no-vineyard/no pretense setting in a Quonset hut in downtown Denver. He uses predominantly grapes from the Western Slope of Colorado, and the results are top-notch, well-respected accessible wines in a 29,000 sq. ft. urban winery located in the River North Art District of Denver. To honor Ben's father who passed away from cancer and to continue the search for a cure, IMT has partnered with The University of Colorado Cancer Center (UCCC). The UCCC is the Rocky Mountain region's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. A portion of the proceeds from each IMT bottle sold goes to this fund. Wines are available at select stores and restaurants across Colorado, New Mexico, California and Georgia, as well as nationwide via The Infinite Monkey Theorem's online wine club.
