The Image Flow Announces New Travel Photography Workshop to Tuscany This Fall
Itinerary to include daily visits to local farms, vineyards, hillside towns and small trades artisans
MILL VALLEY, Calif., July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Image Flow – the Bay Area's premier photography center – has announced a new 11-day workshop to take place in the Tuscany region of Italy this October, geared toward travel photography enthusiasts of all experience levels seeking to hone their skills in genres such as landscape, architecture, street and food photography.
This limited enrollment workshop will be headed by instructors Stuart Schwartz (founder and owner of The Image Flow) and renowned photographer Jeff Zaruba, as the group makes its way through the medieval towns of the Chianti countryside and then on to the city of Florence. Participants in this excursion to Italy will have the opportunity to enjoy this historic region during the height of the harvest season, along with special access to photograph local farms and vineyards.
Other unique points of interest during this curated workshop will include an Alabaster factory, Etruscan tombs, a glass maker and violin maker's shops, natural hot springs and guided tours of both Siena and Florence. All along the way, students will receive photography instruction and insight from their seasoned instructors, as well as participate in critique sessions of the images they produce, following the day's activities.
The Image Flow is no stranger to providing engaging destination workshops, having previously hosted popular travel photography tours to Cuba, Big Sur and Joshua Tree, as well as the Umbria region of Italy last fall. This year's return to Italy promises to be a refreshing experience of new sights for any photographer interested in documenting the rich Italian culture.
"Once again, we are going to be embraced with Italian hospitality, this time in Tuscany," said instructor Stuart Schwartz. "Our 11 days will be filled with a variety of photogenic subject matter. The students will have two veteran advertising photographers to guide them through the challenges of shooting on location and coming away with portfolio-worthy imagery.
"Our goal during this workshop is to inspire our participants to challenge themselves and step out of their comfort zones. By doing this, they will enrich their photographic sensitivities and provide a base for further artistic growth and portfolio development."
There are currently still some slots open for this Tuscan vacation. Spaces are limited to 10 students. The workshop tuition will include all meals, single-room lodging and ground transportation in Italy. Students should be prepared with a DSLR or mirrorless camera, laptop computer with Adobe Lightroom and optional tripod. Students are welcome to bring a friend or partner as a non-photographer on this Tuscan adventure at a reduced rate.
