The Hill Named The Most Followed Twitter Account By Members Of Congress
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hill, called the fastest growing news site in the United States in 2015, continues its dominance as a recent study by Quorum Analytics found The Hill (@TheHill) to be the most followed Twitter account by Members of Congress. Quorum also named The Hill as the most followed media organization, with 372 Member followers, leading all other media sites, including Politico and the Washington Post.
The news follows last week's announcement that The Hill surged ahead with its coverage of the U.S. presidential election, drawing 53.7 million pageviews in July up from 36 million in June, a rise of nearly 50%, according to SimilarWeb, the global leader in digital analytics. TheHill.com saw the third-largest jump of all political brands on SimilarWeb's ranking of "Top U.S. Media Publications," moving up 29 spots on SimilarWeb's list.
"The Hill has consistently produced the most comprehensive, accurate, non-partisan, political coverage, and it's clear that our leaders in Washington agree," said James Finkelstein, Chairman of Capitol Hill Publishing Corp, which publishes The Hill. "The Hill has been at the forefront of 2016 political coverage, and we're proud to be the news source that Members of Congress turn to, especially during this important election cycle."
