The Hartford and Junior Achievement USA Team up for JA MyBiz Builder to Teach Entrepreneurial Concepts to Teens
Online Experience Introduces Teens to Interactive Way to Develop a Business Plan
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Nov. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hartford and Junior Achievement USA (JA) today announced the launch of JA MyBiz Builder, a fun and engaging online experience that lets teens quickly build a business plan based on their ideas for a startup. Users start out with a quiz activity that results in the summary of a simple business plan. They are then guided through an interactive experience that results in the more detailed plan. Along the way, teens learn about the elements that go into a business canvas and have the support of tools like The Hartford's Business Owner's Playbook®. JA MyBiz Builder can be found at https://www.jamyway.org/bizbuilder/bizbuilder/.
"Since 2008, our country has been experiencing a net decline in new business creation," said Jack Kosakowski, President and CEO of Junior Achievement USA. "It's imperative that we help today's young people better understand the opportunities that come with business ownership. We greatly appreciate the support of our friends at The Hartford in this effort."
Since 2014, The Hartford has been a major supporter of Junior Achievement's entrepreneurial initiatives. That year, The Hartford committed $1.5 million for the redevelopment of the JA Company Program® as a blended-learning experience integrating hands-on experience with digital content.
"The JA MyBiz Builder is an engaging way for young people to learn business and financial skills that empower them to be successful," said Diane Cantello, vice president of Corporate Sustainability for The Hartford. "At The Hartford, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of millions of individuals by building safe, strong and successful communities through our philanthropic investments and the generosity of our employees."
