The Hanover Expands Management Liability Services

The new services include a partnership with Jackson Lewis, one of the country's best employment practices and labor relations firms, and the addition of a dedicated team of management liability experts in the West, in keeping with The Hanover's commitment to provide local market knowledge and responsive service to its agent partners.

Earlier in the year, the company unveiled a powerful suite of management liability solutions within the Hanover Profession Portfolio, including a specialty capability to protect private companies against a growing number of financial exposures. These, and other recent investments, reflect The Hanover's aggressive agenda to offer winning independent agents the products, tools and local resources that they need to thrive.

Providing Access to an EPL Hotline

The arrangement with Jackson Lewis will enable The Hanover's independent agent partners to provide even more value to clients who have employment practices liability coverage written with The Hanover, by offering them access to Jackson Lewis' network of roughly 600 labor and employment lawyers.

The new partnership provides The Hanover's EPL customers direct access to Jackson Lewis through a telephone hotline, where they can ask questions regarding the prevention of employment and labor issues, including sexual harassment, job discrimination and wrongful termination. At the same time, they can call for advice should an issue develop.  EPL customers also will gain access to Jackson Lewis bulletins online, reviewing trends and developments in labor and employment law in practical, straight-forward terms. And, when new legislative developments arise—both locally and nationally— new bulletins will be posted.  

Offering the Best Talent in the Industry

The company has also added a management liability practice in San Francisco to complement its strong teams in Chicago and Philadelphia.

The new team includes Eric Schuler, director of underwriting. He is responsible for leading the company's management liability team in San Francisco. Prior to joining The Hanover, Schuler served as regional vice president, management solutions group at Zurich North America. Schuler has appointed John Dulay and Colin Lyons, as senior underwriters to support the ML business from San Francisco, as well. Both of which have many years of experience specific to management liability underwriting.
