The Groomsman Suit Aims to Eliminate Tuxedo Rentals With a Little Technology and a Lot of Customer Love
CHICAGO, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- If you are a guy, you've probably had to rent a tuxedo, and like most you probably roll your eyes at the thought of having to go through that painful experience again. Thankfully, you will never have to rent again after you read this article. The Groomsman Suit, an up and coming men's wedding wear company is on the rise and already making a huge splash in the massive $53B wedding industry. Jeanne Foley and Diana Ganz founded the company to disrupt the rental industry and give men an alternative affordable option to the less than desirable tuxedo and suit rental. TGS has evolved from a line of just suiting and tuxedos for $179 to be a one stop shop for men's wedding wear offering shirts, shoes, suspenders, ties, pocket squares, etc.
In 2014, when Jeanne realized what each of her own groomsmen spent on tuxedos, she was speechless. "I began to re-evaluate why we chose to rent tuxedos and realized that it was really our only option to allow our guys to go black tie on our New Year's Eve wedding," Jeanne explained. She began exploring opportunities and eventually shared her ideas for a men's wedding wear line with her best friend & MBA Grad from MIT Sloan Diana Ganz.
When you think about it, who better to get men suited up for a wedding than two women? "Brides trust us with taking care of their guys on their big day," Diana said. "Photos last a lifetime and you're not going to get a redo so we pay close attention to all of the details like just the right amount of dress shirt showing, jacket fit, and pant length to make sure everyone looks sharp." Additionally, The Groomsman Suit has created helpful content and guides teaching men how a suit should fit or how to find the perfect pant length. They are there every step of the way making it a win-win for the brides and the guys.
In May, they moved their headquarters from Queens, NY to Chicago, IL. Over the summer they built a solid team to support the company's fast growth and they recently launched a new website. They're really doubling down on their commitment to excellent service in the launch of this new website and are taking their service to the next level with a wedding group tracker that takes the chaos out of coordinating their groups of guys. "Couples will be able to create their wedding look and share all items and details with their group. We'll be on hand to help with sizing and send reminders and check-in to make sure everyone is sharply suited for the big day," Jeanne explained.
Probably the most intriguing and innovative feature coming to thegroomsmansuit.com is a sophisticated Fit Finder that doesn't require any measurements for suiting size and fit recommendations. While it seems impossible, Jeanne and Diana are confident in the model they developed based on data from thousands of orders. "Over time, we realized that height, weight and chest to waist ratio are the most important key indicators for size and body type," Diana explained. "Expecting men to know fifteen different measurements is not realistic, nor does it make for an enjoyable purchasing experience."
Their suits might not be made to measure, but because they offer almost sixty sizes in every style/color men are finding a close to custom fit off the rack. In addition to a new and improved shopping experience, The Groomsman Suit now offers a complete line of accessories including shirts, shoes, belts, suspenders, ties and pocket squares. No longer will couples have to make their guys rent, wait for a sale, or shop a million different brands to put their wedding style together for their guys. It's all at The Groomsman Suit!
