The Great White and Black Way: TAG Heuer Sets the Stage With New Women's Timepieces
Monochrome is anything but boring with updated Formula 1 and Carrera
BASEL, Switzerland, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Inspired by its core values of strength, beauty, prestige and forward design, TAG Heuer unveiled today new women's timepieces from its Formula 1 and Carrera collections that set the tone for active elegance in the new season. These fresh-looking timepieces are designed to meet the exacting standards of today's woman, and complement any outfit, from tennis garb to a little black dress.
Formula 1 Ceramic and Stainless Steel
TAG Heuer's new capsule collection of Formula 1 watches is ideal for women seeking a refined and distinguishable timepiece that also is durable. The mixture of ceramic and 316L surgical-grade stainless steel – both of which are extremely scratch resistant – ensures the watch can be worn all the time without fear of damaging it. Additionally, the combination of these materials sets the Formula 1 apart from the proliferation of ceramic-made pieces in the luxury watch market, allowing women to make a definitively personal fashion statement.
The ceramic and stainless steel Formula 1 is available in a choice of black or the hottest color of the spring/summer season, bright white. For a touch of subtle sophistication, the timepiece also is offered in either color with a diamond-encrusted bezel, set with 36 top Wesselton diamonds (0.048 carats). Both styles feature a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and are water resistant to 50 meters.
These sporty and luxurious timepieces will retail in the U.S. and Canada for approximately $1,200 for the non-diamond and $1,700 for the diamond models.
Carrera Calibre 5 With Diamonds
Women who want a diamond-laced timepiece that is beautifully designed and not over-the-top need to look no further than the ladies' Carrera Calibre 5. This dressed-up interpretation of TAG Heuer's iconic Carrera is embellished with a total of 73 top Wesselton diamonds (0.628 carats) on its white mother-of-pearl dial, stainless steel case and fixed bezel. The elegance of the 36 mm timepiece is further complemented by either a stainless steel bracelet or white alligator strap, both of which feature a solid steel folding clasp with safety push buttons. Water resistant to 50 meters, the ladies' Carrera Calibre 5 will retail in the U.S. and Canada for about $4,400. It is scheduled to hit retail in September 2010.
TAG Heuer Celebrates 150 Years of Watchmaking Innovation
The year 2010 marks TAG Heuer's 150th anniversary – a milestone that celebrates the brand's evolution from a small workshop in the Swiss Jura Mountains to its status today as a leader in the luxury watch market. Since its inception, TAG Heuer has demonstrated a passion for accurately measuring even the smallest increment of time. It is the only watchmaker to develop a mechanical automatic chronograph movement that displays 1/10th, 1/100th and 1/1000th of a second, as well as the only brand to capture 1/10,000th of a second. The brand's 150-year legacy is peppered with displays of engineering prowess, including the world's first oscillating pinion, patented in 1887, and the recently launched Monaco V4, which features a double-patented belt-driven movement that shatters the basic tenets of how a watch keeps time. Through a constant pursuit of excellence and innovation, TAG Heuer creates timepieces that are a defining symbol of state-of-the-art originality.
