MINNEAPOLIS, April 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Goodman Group announced today that Craig Edinger has been promoted to chief executive officer. Edinger, who most recently served as chief operating officer and executive-in-charge, succeeds John B. Goodman, who led the company since 1976 and passed away March 20, 2016, from complications following a heart attack.
Edinger has been with The Goodman Group for 12 years, having worked closely with John B. Goodman and his father, Sidney A. Goodman, who founded the company in 1965. Edinger has the loyalty of the organization and a clear understanding of John's enduring vision.
Edinger commented, "I am honored for the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization and look forward to building upon the strong foundation that John and his father created. I am deeply committed to The Goodman Group's mission of putting our residents at the heart of everything we do."
As chief operating officer, Edinger was responsible for the company's operational and business functions of its 70 senior living and health care, residential and commercial properties. Prior to that, he was vice president of senior living & health care. Edinger has more than 27 years of experience in senior living and the post-acute care continuum.
Edinger has a Master of Health Care Administration from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from University of Wisconsin Eau Claire.
