The Goddard School at Columbia 100 Offers Parent Workshop Series
Upcoming sessions to explore kindergarten readiness and child development
COLUMBIA, Md., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Goddard School at Columbia 100 Parkway (www.goddardschool.com) has partnered with the Howard County Office of Children's Services to host a series of workshops on parenting young children. The workshops are free and open to the community.
The first program in the series will address the transition from pre-school to kindergarten. Lauren Tillman of the Howard County Public School System's Office of Early Education will provide parents with information on readiness skills and age requirements and overview the resources available to help families adjust to the change. Scheduled for February 24 at 6:30 p.m., the workshop will be held at The Goddard School at 8866 Columbia 100 Parkway.
The March session, entitled "The Way Children Grow," will explore the stages of child development. In addition to discussing developmentally appropriate behaviors for various ages, the workshop will teach parents about activities to encourage cognitive, physical, social/emotional and language development in infants and toddlers. Led by Joan Johnson, the workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Goddard School at 8866 Columbia 100 Parkway.
