Historic Awards Program to Drive Greater Participation among Leading Medical Technology Visionaries
NEW YORK, July 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Galien Foundation, the non-profit foundation that oversees and directs activities in the United States for the Prix Galien, an international award that recognizes outstanding achievements in improving the human condition through the development of innovative health advances, announced that it has engaged Finn Partners to help strengthen industry awareness of the Galien Foundation Medical Technology category.

The Prix Galien was created in France in 1970 by a pharmacist named Roland Mehl to promote significant advances in Biopharmaceutical research and recognize the achievements of the best research teams in the pharmaceutical field. The Prix Galien USA Awards and Forum launched in New York City in 2007, first honoring unique medical products, later devices, and individuals who have impacted patient care through innovation.
The Prix Galien Award Selection Committee, led by Dr. Roy Vagelos comprises numerous Nobel Prize Laureates and The Foundation board includes business leaders of note. The late Professor Elie Wiesel, a founding board member, served as honorary chair and held responsibility for bestowing of the Pro Bono Humanum Award recognizing an individual's outstanding efforts to improving the human condition. His presence and spirit will continue as a guiding influence as Professor Wiesel has been named Founding Honorary President Elie Wiesel.
