The Fine Point Group Announces the Appointment of Joseph C. Howard to Its Casino Operations Practice

LAS VEGAS, Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, The Fine Point Group, the gaming industry's leading independent strategy consulting and management company, announced that Joseph C. Howard will be joining the firm as a Vice President in its Casino Operations practice.

Mr. Howard joins the firm with more than twenty-two years of casino operations experience.  He currently serves as a Regional Vice President for Harrah's Entertainment, where he manages more than 500 employees in its Las Vegas region at the Rio, Paris, Bally's, Planet Hollywood, Harrah's, Flamingo, Bill's, O'Shea's, and Imperial Palace properties.  After leaving Harrah's later this month, Joe shall manage labor optimization and service improvement engagements as well as assist in the day-to-day leadership of the firm's management contract clients.

Mr. Howard has been responsible for Harrah's security protection of Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama during visits to Las Vegas, and is best known for leading the effort to get the Harrah's New Orleans property open in less than one month after the state of Louisiana failed to issue a permit after security inspections.  He has demonstrated an ability to cut millions in operating expenses – while improving service levels.  Prior to Harrah's, he spent eleven years in management with Fitzgerald's in the Tunica, Mississippi market.  A decorated United States marine sergeant who served as a tank commander prior to joining the casino industry, Mr. Howard began his gaming career as a security officer in Reno, Nevada.
