The Family of Robert Fuller Hosts A Public Viewing Today
The homegoing of Robert Fuller, who was found hung a couple of weeks ago in Palmdale, will take place on Tuesday at the Living Stone Cathedral of Worship; a public viewing will take place today from 1pm to 5pm PT at the same church.
PALMDALE, Calif., June 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, from 1pm to 5pm PT, the family of Robert Fuller will host a public viewing of Mr. Fuller at Living Stone Cathedral of Worship in Littlerock, California (located at 37721 100th Street E, Littlerock 93543). On Tuesday, June 30, the family will lay him to rest. The homegoing service will take place at Living Stone Cathedral of Worship and will be officiated by Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, Senior Pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church; he will also deliver the eulogy.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a passerby found Mr. Fuller's body hanging from a tree in Poncitlán Square, across from Palmdale City Hall, at around 3:39am on June 10. Initially, the death was ruled a suicide, but the family stated emphatically that Mr. Fuller was not suicidal.
In these unprecedented times and amid racial justice protests, '…once again, America's trees are bearing a strange and bitter fruit — dead black bodies,' writes Stacey Patton for The Washington Post. In less than one month, six black people in five different states have been found hanging from trees. Authorities say that all of these deaths appear to be suicides, but family members of the deceased, protesters and activists are not convinced.
Fuller's death prompted massive protests across the city as the nation has been wrestling with a racial climate nestled in the deaths of George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN; Breonna Taylor in Louisville, KY, and Ahmaud Arbery in Brunswick, GA. As one can imagine, the family of Mr. Fuller is distraught and is demanding answers.
On Tuesday, Living Stone Cathedral of Worship will facilitate the service safely amid COVID. Sanctuary seating is by invitation only, and everyone in attendance will be wearing a mask and socially distanced. Additionally, the service will be live streamed on https://www.youtube.com/faithfulcentral .
