The Environmental Media Association, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Yes To Carrots Launch Gardening Challenge for Students
LOS ANGELES, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Yes To Carrots, The Environmental Media Association and Emmanuelle Chriqui are proud to announce the launch of the "Yes To Carrots Garden Challenge" for public schools nationwide.
"At Yes To Carrots we're always striving to find new ways to improve the lives of our most important members of society—children," said Ido Leffler, Yes To Carrots Co-Founder. "I am thrilled to launch the first Yes To Carrots Garden Challenge. With amazing support, we hope this contest encourages more schools to teach kids that it's fun to get their hands dirty and grow their own fruits and vegetables!"
Public schools (K-8) may enter the contest by submitting a video or written essay on the program website by May 20, 2010, expressing why they think a garden would be a positive addition to their school. The school should have a pre-existing commitment to gardening. The judges include Emmanuelle Chriqui, Rosario Dawson, Amy Smart, Carter Oosterhouse and Ido Leffler. The winning school will receive a $5,000 grant from the Yes To Carrots Seed Fund as well as a year's worth of supplies from Kellogg Garden Products. Star of HBO's Entourage, Emmanuelle Chriqui, will represent the school as its Garden Ambassador for the year.
