The Enterprise Center at Salem State College Announces Most Extensive Small Business Workshop Schedule Ever
SALEM, Mass., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Businesses are growing on the North Shore. That's the underlying message of the largest and most diverse selection of business workshops ever offered by The Enterprise Center at Salem State College. The 2010 spring topics range from "Financing Your Business" and "Finding a Good Job in 90 Days" to new and cutting-edge workshops like "The Latest Trends in Social Media" and "Creating Powerful Mobile Marketing Programs." The full schedule can be found at www.enterprisectr.org.
The Enterprise Center has become a vibrant center for business activity on Boston's North Shore, holding more than 90 programs in 2009. "It was our busiest year ever, with 3,500 entrepreneurs, executives and small business owners registering for our programs -- an 84% increase over 2008," said Christine Sullivan, Executive Director. This growth prompted the Enterprise Center to survey its database about their future plans.
In the December 2009 survey, 53 percent of respondents reported they plan on growing their business in 2010, and 33 percent report they plan on hiring. This, coupled with the 84 percent increase in workshop registrations prompted the Center to expand its programming for 2010. "Entrepreneurs and small businesses are positioning themselves to grow this year; our goal is to give them a range of high quality and mostly free programs to help them prosper."
In addition to business skill-building workshops, the Enterprise Center offers other programs specifically designed to help businesses grow. These include the 128 Venture North breakfast series, which provides a venue for entrepreneurs and investors to meet and network, a series of free workshops specifically for non-profit organizations, and an annual North of Boston Business Plan Competition, which identifies some of the top business talent in Essex County and Merrimack Valley.
The Enterprise Center at Salem State College, located at 121 Loring Ave. in Salem, is one of the preeminent resources for small businesses in Massachusetts, providing educational, networking, and growth opportunities as well as offices and meeting space.
