The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States hosted the 2014 Parliamentary Elections
WASHINGTON, Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States hosted the Kingdom's 4th election cycle on the 18th of November 2014. This day saw Bahrainis traveling from across the country to cast their Parliamentary ballots at the Embassy in Washington D.C.
"We are so pleased to host all the Bahrainis in the United States to participate in turning another page in our democratic history," expressed the Ambassador to the United States. "This communal push from all of our citizens will help shape the country's future at the will of the people" he added.
There is a heightened sense of awareness of participation in this democratic process, either as Parliamentarian candidates or as voters, for promoting change through consensus. The path to democracy begun with His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa with the initiation of Parliament in 2002, and over the last 12 years of the Kingdom's Parliament illustrated that the reform process is evolving along with the country's citizens.
The Ambassador was pleased to see the success of the elections held at the Embassy and expresses his gratitude to all the Bahraini visitors in the United States and to all the students that came from across the country to cast their votes . The Embassy looks forward to the upcoming general elections in the Kingdom of Bahrain on the 22nd of November 2014.
