"Over the past 399 shows, we've tried to provide viewers with ways to turn their own health around, and I really love hearing from the people who have," said Dr. Oz. "There are so many folks at home who don't feel trapped in their bodies anymore. I'm so thrilled this show has furthered the conversation that empowers viewers to become a world expert on their own body."
In the 400th episode, Dr. Oz introduces the world to Jennie, a 52-year-old nurse who once tipped the scale at 449 pounds. Once home-bound, Jennie was inspired by Dr. Oz to get healthy, and now appears on the show 300 pounds lighter, with a new smile and with hope for those challenged by obesity.
Returning to share his heart-healthy tips, Rocco from Arizona appeared in season one with a diseased and failing heart at the brink of major cardiac surgery. After Dr. Oz told him he had the heart of an 85-year-old, Rocco turned his life around by changing his diet and losing weight. In the 400th show, he has reversed his cardiovascular disease, is 30 pounds lighter and ready to share his gratitude, inspiration and tips.
Dr. Oz discusses obesity and infertility with season one guest Nancy, who once struggled to conceive due to the complications presented by her weight. After losing 200 pounds and having two children, she returns to the show to share her motivation and insight. Then the show sees two back-to-back baby surprises when Nancy meets Paula, a viewer inspired by Nancy to lose weight. And after surprising hundreds of guests, Dr. Oz gets his own surprise when several women who once struggled with infertility take the stage with the babies they were able to conceive with his advice, including Nancy and her second baby, Abigail.
This season, "The Dr. Oz Show" launched Transformation Nation: Million Dollar You to help Americans take control of their health once and for all. More than just weight loss, it's the season-long viewer health challenge in partnership with Weight Watchers that leads viewers through seven steps towards optimum health, each with its own completion criteria. A panel of judges will narrow down 10 finalists, and viewers will vote on the grand prize winner of $1 million. The program is powered by "The Dr. Oz Show" online partner, Sharecare, where participants have access to trusted health and wellness information, helpful tools, and real-time community interaction with each other and with thousands of health experts including physicians, nurses and trainers – all designed to help everyone live their healthiest life.
