The Countdown Continues as the iaedp Foundation Calls for Proposals for Symposium 2013
Only four days left for eating disorder professionals to submit abstracts
PEKIN, Ill., June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Only four days remain for the iaedp Foundation's invitation to eating disorder professionals as it seeks abstracts on inventive treatment modalities for the phases of the eating disordered patient's journey-- from denial and resistance to treatment and recovery -- to be included for presentation at Symposium 2013, taking place at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa in Henderson, Nevada, March 21-24.
The call closes at midnight on June 30, 2012. All abstracts must be submitted online, and no incomplete submittals will be considered. "The iaedp Foundation invites all eating disorder professionals to participate in this life changing call for proposals in order to share ideas in groundbreaking treatment for those challenged with and suffering from eating disorders," said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director at The iaedp Foundation. "These proposals will help inform and teach our prestigious network of professionals and ultimately, save lives.
In line with Symposium 2013's theme, "What's New Under the Sun? Innovative Approaches to Treatment," The iadep Foundation is looking for abstracts that cover the wide spectrum of topics related to disordered eating ranging from life threatening medical complications to state of the art treatments in recovery.
Treatment providers from all disciplines are challenged to creatively convert ongoing research, brain imaging, and treatment updates into meaningful ED treatment protocols including individual, group, and family work that by presentation will help clinicians in all treatment settings.
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of professional peers responsible for making the final selections for Symposium 2013. This renowned committee will consider the quality of the submittal, the speaker's experience and qualifications to speak on the abstract submitted, relevance to the conference theme, and the applicability of the presentation to both inpatient and outpatient settings. Be sure to include an experiential or interactive component in proposed presentations as preference will be given to unique abstracts offered for the first time.
