NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GMH Capital Partners of Newtown Square, Pa is pleased to announce the presentation of nine awards to their three Class A multifamily properties in the greater Pittsburgh area. These honors were announced at the 2018 Apartment Excellence Awards on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Champions Club at Heinz Field.
This year AAMP awarded properties for Curb Appeal, Overall Community Appeal and a new category, Outstanding Amenities. The Outstanding Amenities award was designed to recognize a community's exceptional amenity package – interior and exterior.
1400 Main at Southpointe Town Center was presented the Best-of-the-Best award for Outstanding Amenities this year alongside victories in the Curb Appeal and Overall Community Appeal categories for their amenity-laden community.
The Cork Factory was presented Best-of-the-Best awards in both Curb Appeal and Overall Community Appeal, achieving the highest scores of any property in their category. Lot 24 was also honored with awards recognizing their achievement in these areas.

GMH's communities were judged among 68 other properties owned and managed by 16 companies. Each award was based upon the total number of points achieved as a predetermined percentage of overall points. The Best-of-the-Best properties were required to achieve a minimum score of 98% and receive the highest score within their class and category.
GMH purchased The Cork Factory and Lot 24 in May 2014. Both communities are located within Pittsburgh's historic Strip District neighborhood, just beyond the City's central business district. The Cork Factory features 297 urban loft-style luxury apartment homes, while the 96 units at Lot 24 cater to residents who seek upscale, boutique-style living.
