The Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Wraps Up Their Concert Series with the Beautiful Voices of the Florida Singing Sons Boychoir
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church invites the community to attend a memorable performance by the award-winning Florida Singing Sons Boychoir on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 4 p.m. The concert will take place in the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church's Sanctuary, located at 5555 N. Federal Highway.
"I couldn't be more excited to present the musicality of the Florida Singing Sons Boychoir as our final performance of the season," said Chelsea Chen, Artistic Director of the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Concert Series. "Concert goers can anticipate a lively show with musical selections ranging from popular favorites to tunes audience members of all ages will love."
Since its inception in 1975, the internationally renowned Florida Singing Sons Boychoir has become known for its professional sounds and delightful performances. Over the years, they have appeared as guests with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the Sinfonia Virtuosi of Florida, the Gold Coast Opera, the Imperial Symphony and with stage luminaries Liza Minnelli, Judy Collins, Lee Greenwood, and the late Audrey Hepburn and Bob Hope.
Each year Florida's Singing Sons visit local public and private schools and screen thousands of third and fourth-grade boys in order to find the most outstanding talent. Many of the boys from Florida's Singing Sons go on to study music at some of the top colleges and universities, often receiving scholarships due to their advanced music education from the program.
The Boychoir will present a music selection of songs popularized by movies, television shows, and commercials. All are invited to bring the whole family to hear their delightful voices as they sing a mixture of classical and more pop-contemporary songs from their repertoire including: Lacrymosa from the Mozart Requiem, O Fortuna from Orff's Carmina Burana, Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, an a cappella Star Wars Medley, an a cappella medley of John Williams' film scores, The Misty Mountains Cold from the Hobbit Movies, and Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (popularized today by Rufus Wainwright in Shrek).
The Florida Singing Sons concert is the final concert in the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church 2015-2016 Concert Series and is open to the public.
"Music in all its formats, whether it be singing, listening or playing an instrument, offers so many benefits. It has been a pleasure to bring enjoyment to the community through the variety of musical genres the concert series has offered," said Chen.
Tickets are $25 for preferred seating, $15 for general admission, $10 for senior admission, and $5 for student admission. To purchase a ticket, visit http://bit.ly/crpcconcerts.
