The Coop To Launch Its AMC® The Walking Dead® Line For People And Pets At Toy Fair
SEATTLE, Feb. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- So that you can be prepared for the next walker outbreak, The Coop (http://www.crowdedcoop.com), a licensed consumer products company, will be launching its expanded AMC® The Walking Dead® collection for both people and pets at Toy Fair 2015 (Booth #4401) in New York February 14-17.
Included in this line extension is a variety of bags (messenger, duffel, cinch, sling, shopping totes and an insulated lunch tote that is a replica of Carl's pudding can from season four), accessories (luggage tags, wallets) and a pet collection.
"Our approach to any license is to really absorb it, which was easy to do since we are huge followers of The Walking Dead. By getting to know the show inside and out, we identified unique elements of the property that led us to create some pretty special merchandise…items that represent the license well and pass the all-important loyal fan test," said Brandy Tanner, co-owner of The Coop.
The Coop has embraced the essence of some of The Walking Dead main characters by incorporating visual elements of the character into the items. Like Daryl's iconic motorcycle vest wings on the Daryl Wings Messenger Bag (MSRP $89.95), the handle of Michonne's sword on the shoulder strap of Michonne's Katana Sling Bag (MSRP $59.95) and the patch from Rick's sheriff uniform on the Rick Grimes Sheriff Backpack – in both desert brown and black – (MSRP $89.95). Many of the items are made to look worn, just as they would be in a post-apocalyptic world, and are made of durable materials. Still others carry the blood-spattered look.
Those same themes are carried through the pet collection which includes collars & leashes, apparel and toys. One of the t-shirts shows some outstretched walkers' hands and the phrase "Walker Bait" (MSRP $19.95). Fans should especially enjoy the plush chew toy of The Governor (MSRP $14.95) – the evil character that was so easy to hate.
And a The Walking Dead line wouldn't be complete without representation of the walkers. The image from season 1 of the walkers' hands trying desperately to reach through the chained doors that say 'Don't Open, Dead Inside' can be found on a luggage tag and a shopping tote.
AMC's The Walking Dead is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics.
