The Convention of States Project Stands For Limited Government - Time for Article V is Now!
President Obama has drawn a new line in the sand: government v. the people
PURCELLVILLE, Va., Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Convention of States Project is calling all Americans who want recourse in stopping this runaway president and the federal representatives who are afraid to act on our behalf—to reclaim Constitutional self-governance in America. Sign up on our website now to get involved, www.ConventionofStates.com.
We have active leadership in 43 states—with 31 states on target to pass an Article V application to rein in the power of Washington, D.C. next year. The COS Project anticipates that the requisite number of applications, 34, may be reached by the end of 2015.
"Article V, the Convention of the States, that's where recourse exists," said radio talk show host, Mark Levin on his show Thursday, November 20th.
Mark Meckler, President of Citizens for Self-Governance and Co-founder, The Convention of States Project states, "On November 4th, Americans spoke with a loud voice giving Republicans an historic victory from state legislatures to the Nation's Capital. The driving force in voters' rejection of the current federal government was border security and Obamacare. Instead of listening to the people and using the Mid-term elections to actually re-engage in the leadership process to begin to address these issues—President Obama has chosen to further distance himself from the American people. In fact, tonight the President has drawn a new line in the sand creating a very clear picture of the real chasm in America—the federal leviathan vs. the People."
"Experience hath shown, that even under best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny." Thomas Jefferson
Over the past six years the president has been captured on camera 25 times stating that he is unable to act alone regarding immigration. The Convention of States Project and its hundreds of thousands of supporters are asking President Obama to stop this action and instead faithfully support the oath that he took in 2009 to uphold the Constitution.
The Convention of States Project currently has organized leadership in 43 states around the country, including thousands of volunteers committed to stopping the federal government's abuse of power. Three Article V applications have already been passed in Alaska, Florida and Georgia. For more information visit www.ConventionofStates.com.
