SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Constellations, astute purveyors of Atlanta's rock/soul underbelly, have signed with 429 Records and are set for the release today of "DO IT FOR FREE"—their debut album for 429 and the follow up to their acclaimed debut "Southern Gothic." A special edition of the album with 3 exclusive bonus tracks and video for "Side By Side" is available at iTunes. Also available on iTunes are 38 free live tracks from the bands on the Warped Tour including The Constellations (link below). Winners of a remix contest hosted by Indaba for the track "Back In Atlanta" will be announced on June 13th. Known for their live show, the band will perform on the entire Warped Tour this summer.

Led by Elijah Jones, and featuring Wes Hoffman (bass), Travis Phillips (guitar), James Gordon (keyboards) and Shane Hoffman (drums)—the band reinforce their reputation for hard swinging alt beats but have honed their musical outlook concentrating on muscular grooves and a more soulful melodicism. Produced by Andy Rose, the swirling funk anchored by the B3 and Fender Rhodes Organ provides the perfect backdrop for the band's trademark gritty songwriting.
Perfectly suited for the Warped Tour, The Constellations are constantly touring—taking every opportunity to hit the road. Much of the inspiration for DO IT FOR FREE came to light after months on the road. Elijah also connects his active involvement with the Occupy Movement with some of the inspiration for DO IT FOR FREE—the title a reference to the 99 Percenters as well as the band's dedication and love for playing live no matter what the costs or profit.
