The Conference Board Governance Center to Release Key Report at December 4 Symposium on Corporate Political Spending and Disclosure

NEW YORK, Dec. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board Governance Center's Committee on Corporate Political Spending is today releasing a comprehensive new report featuring suggested policies and practices for companies engaging in political activity. Corporate Political Spending (Second Edition): Policies, Practices, Accountability, and Disclosure is available free to the public and is intended to advance discussion of transparency in political spending.

"The report has been fully updated to account for the latest legal and market conditions," said Judy McLevey, Assistant Director of The Conference Board Governance Center. The report will be launched at a symposium in Washington, D.C. today. It includes a discussion of Crony Capitalism: Unhealthy Relations Between Business and Government, a recently published study by the Committee for Economic Development that examines the growing public perception of corruption in America through three separate trends: a rise in the size and scope of government, increased campaign costs, and the growing power of lobbying.
