NEW YORK, Dec. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board – a member-focused think tank that provides trusted insights for what's ahead – announced today the election of Ellen R. Alemany, chairwoman and CEO of CIT Group, and Beth E. Mooney, CEO of KeyCorp, to its board of trustees.
Alemany is chairwoman and chief executive officer of CIT Group and chairwoman, CEO and president of CIT Bank, the company's bank subsidiary. Alemany is the former head of The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Americas. She also served as chairman and CEO for RBS Citizens Financial Group, Inc. Prior to RBS, she served as CEO for Global Transaction Services at Citigroup. Alemany held a number of senior positions during her tenure at Citigroup, including executive vice president for Commercial Business and president and CEO of CitiCapital. She also held several executive positions in Citigroup's Global Corporate Bank, including customer group executive of North American markets, global industry head of Media and Communications, U.S. industry head of Consumer Products, and customer group executive for the Global Relationship Bank in Europe, based in London.
Alemany received her MBA in finance from Fordham University. She previously served on the Federal Reserve's Federal Advisory Council, and she currently serves on the boards of Fidelity National Information Services, Inc., The Center for Discovery, Operation HOPE and the Partnership for New York City. She also serves on the board of advisors for the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City.
Mooney is chairman and chief executive officer of KeyCorp. In 2010, she was named president and became a member of KeyCorp's board of directors. Prior to KeyCorp, Mooney was senior executive vice president and chief financial officer for Alabama-based AmSouth Bancorporation (now Regions Financial Corporation), where she ran its banking operations in Tennessee and Northern Louisiana. Her banking career included roles of increasing responsibility at Bank One Corporation, Citicorp Real Estate, Inc., Hall Financial Group and Republic Bank of Texas/First Republic.
Mooney graduated from the University of Texas and earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University. She is a member of several boards, including AT&T, Catalyst, the Bank Policy Institute and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She is also a member of the Federal Advisory Council and The Business Council.
