NEW YORK, Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- LetsGetChecked, the medical technology platform opened The Longevity Lab doors on November 1st to raise awareness for two of the leading causes of death in the U.S.; diabetes and heart disease.
The launch was held on 198 Allen Street, NY 10002 and attracted the general public, health advocates, influencers and professional athletes, most notably LetsGetChecked was joined by keynote speaker TJ Dillashaw, in an effort to educate the public in what it takes to know your health through lifestyle choices and testing.
The Longevity Lab provided free cholesterol and diabetic testing to the general public between 8 AM - 8 PM. Attendees had the opportunity to ask the LetsGetChecked medical team about their symptoms and an online personal dashboard was set up for those in attendance, allowing them to begin their personal health journey that day.
The idea behind The Longevity Lab was formulated by Peter Foley, founder of LetsGetChecked, on the back of shocking statistics that report 2,300 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day* and diabetes being the 7th most common cause of death in the U.S.*
Peter Foley said, "We are passionate about allowing people to take control of their healthcare & creating a transparent monitoring system, so the Longevity Lab was a way to showcase how that works."
The keynote speaker on the day was TJ Dillashaw, bantamweight UFC champion. Dillashaw spoke about how he tracks and improves his health as a professional athlete. He spoke in great detail to attendees about what one can achieve if they prioritize their well-being.
"As an athlete and a fighter, you can truly say that my health is my wealth."
U.S. Medical Director Dr. Robert Mordkin hosted the lunchtime panel discussion on 'The Future of Digital Healthcare.' Headline speakers included, Joe Holder, personal trainer to New York's people of influence and founder of the Ocho System, Ana Snyder - NYMMG fitness model, Nitika Chopra, TV Host and chronic illness advocate, Connor Beaton, founder of ManTalks and Nicole Loher, NYU professor, triathlete and Adidas ambassador. 'The Future Of Digital Health' looked to how we manage our health and wellness in the digital era now and where we envision the wellness arena will expand to.
The goal of both the lunchtime and evening panel discussion was to educate attendees on how they can utilize futuristic methods to manage their health. LetsGetChecked is offering the people of New York and further afield the necessary tools to prioritize their wellness through their at home testing kits.
