BOSTON, March 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Commonwealth Institute (TCI) today officially announced sponsors of its inaugural Women's Leadership Development Impact Study—the first statewide study to better understand employers' actions to develop, retain and advance women employees in Massachusetts.

Supporting Sponsors: Bowditch & Dewey and former CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Cathy Minehan
"We are grateful to all our sponsors for their support of this vital research and their commitment to developing women leaders," said Executive Director, Elizabeth Hailer. "We know there are organizations that have piloted initiatives to advance women and recognize that there are others who seek to engage in best practices, but may not be moving the needle with existing programs. Our goal with this study is to provide businesses with an inventory of effective practices to advance women leaders throughout the state."
Starting this month, data is being collected confidentially through an online survey. Survey questions seek feedback on resources that organizations have in place specifically to promote the development of women leaders; these include internal and external programs, funding, consultants, recruitment processes and designated development officers/champions.
The survey has been distributed to companies across industries, of varying sizes and stages—from startups to established corporations. It will be conducted biennially to regularly measure what businesses throughout Massachusetts are doing to create a pathway for women leaders and to create benchmarks for moving forward.
To conduct the research, TCI has partnered with Chadwick Martin Bailey. Additional partners focused on this effort include the Center for Women in Business (CWB) at Bentley University, Hollister Institute, Keystone Partners, Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange (MITX) and The Castle Group.
If your company is interested in participating in the online survey, please contact [email protected]. The deadline to participate in the survey is Friday, April 6.
TCI will release key findings from the survey later this year. For more information about TCI, visit commonwealthinstitute.org/
