The Colorectal Cancer Association celebrates National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month with its International Public Service Announcement Contest
TORONTO, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ - The Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada (CCAC) invites aspiring advertising creators and filmmakers to use their talents to raise colorectal cancer awareness by participating in the Second Annual International Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest.
In addition to cash prizes of up to $4,500 CAD, the contest offers the opportunity to catch the eyes and ears of the contest's judging panel, which includes Chairperson of the National Film Board of Canada Tom Perlmutter, Cinémathèque québécoise president Jacques Bensimon and a representative of Ogilvy Montreal, the prestigious communications agency behind the CCAC's edgy getyourbuttseen.ca campaign.
DEADLINE: Entrants may submit their PSAs until 23:59 EST on March 31st, the final day of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
CONTEST THEME: "Colorectal cancer is Preventable, Treatable and Beatable!"
CONTEST GUIDELINES: Video, audio or print entries may be targeted to asymptomatic men and women of any age. Creativity and humour are thoroughly encouraged. Since it is vital that each submission has an accurate message, entrants are encouraged to use the CCAC's vast online resources (www.colorectal-cancer.ca) to educate themselves about colorectal cancer. Entries will be judged on their technical merits, their creativity and the message produced. Entries must be submitted at www.ccacpsa.com.

About colorectal cancer
Colorectal cancer, cancer of the colon or rectum, is the second-leading cause of cancer death in Canada. Though highly preventable and curable when detected early, an estimated 22,500 Canadians will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year, and approximately 9,100 are expected to succumb to it. An almost equal number of men and women are affected by colorectal cancer.
