WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Collingwood Group today announced its acquisition of Indelium LLC and the formation of Collingwood Communications. David Jeffers was appointed president and chief executive officer of the new company.
Collingwood Communications primarily will focus on serving the public relations and public affairs needs of organizations in financial services, housing and the mortgage industry.
The Collingwood Group (www.collingwoodllc.com) is a Washington-based corporate advisory and business investment firm. It was co-founded in 2009 by former Ginnie Mae president Joe Murin and former Federal Housing Administration (FHA) Commissioner Brian Montgomery.
"The acquisition of Indelium's leadership and experience allows The Collingwood Group to widen the scope of solutions that we provide our clients," said Montgomery, who will serve as the chairman of Collingwood Communications' board of directors. "An effective communications strategy is an important component of success when conducting business in the new world of financial services and public policy."
Jeffers founded Northern Virginia-based Indelium, a strategic communications company, in 2006. Among the clients served by Indelium in the past four years are the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks, Freddie Mac, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the National Association of Home Builders, the National Housing Conference, Overture Corporation, Rebuilding Together, Xap Corporation, the Department of Homeland Security and the Foundation for The National Archives.
"David Jeffers has a 30-year reputation of developing and providing responsible, creative and results-oriented public strategies," said Montgomery. "At a time when the nation's financial system is amidst an unprecedented overhaul, Jeffers and the new Collingwood Communications team will prove invaluable to private, public and nonprofit sector enterprises managing challenges in this era of historic change."
Jeffers said, "The Collingwood Group has committed the resources necessary to make Collingwood Communications immediately competitive in providing a range of strategic communications services to new and existing clients."
Prior to establishing Indelium, Jeffers' career included two decades at Fannie Mae, as well as several years as a senior public relations executive for national organizations representing community banks and the Realtor community.
The Collingwood Group also announced the appointment of Rebecca Froass to vice president of client services. Most recently, Froass was senior director of industry relations for Freddie Mac. Prior to joining Freddie Mac in 1999, she managed capital and credit market issues for the Mortgage Bankers Association and served as the organization's senior liaison to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
"Becky Froass is known throughout the industry as an enormously talented and trusted professional," said Murin. "Her reputation for hard work, integrity and judgment will be an extraordinary asset to The Collingwood Group and its clients."
In addition to Montgomery and Murin, the managing directors of The Collingwood Group are Brian O'Reilly, Tim Rood and James Russell.
