The Clam Shack Voted America's Best Lobster Roll at TastingTable.com's 2013 Lobster Roll Rumble

NEW YORK, June 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- It's official: The Clam Shack is America's Best Lobster Roll. Twenty of the country's top seafood shacks competed at Tasting Table's fourth annual Lobster Roll Rumble, and the event's 1,300 guests selected The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport as the winner for the second consecutive year. Also taking top honors, Eventide Oyster Co. earned the coveted Editors' Choice Award, voted on by Tasting Table's 15 editors.

The sold-out event utilized NFC technology for the second year in a row, enabling guests to cast real-time votes and amplify their Rumble experience by sharing it on their social networks. Custom sponsor activations included voting stations: At the Tequila Don Julio station, Pina Picante was named the best cocktail of the night; at the Haagen-Dazs^® Gelato station, Sea Salt Caramel took home the title of favorite flavor.

FUZE^® Iced Tea, Stella Artois, Bordeaux Wines, Maine Tourism and Evian rounded out the epic shellfish showdown, which benefits Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign.

Thanks to Luke's Lobster, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Thames Street Oyster House, B&G Oysters, Lure Fishbar, Ditch Plains, Lobster Joint, Waterbar, The Mermaid Inn, Lobster Roll Restaurant aka "Lunch," Kittery of Brooklyn, Cousins Fresh Maine Lobster, Bite Into Maine, Ford's Fish Shack, L&W Oyster Co., Cull & Pistol, The Galley Restaurant & Pub and Little Market Brasserie for participating in the event. All leftover food was donated to The Bowery Mission.
