Of the video, Joy Williams comments, "When we re-discovered what we'd once thought to be lost footage from two years ago, these forgotten images from a trip to Paris strangely seemed fitting for the feel of "Dust To Dust." For me, it's like stepping back in time. Hope you can also enjoy these simple moments captured in one of the world's most beautiful cities."
"Dust to Dust" is the second single from the acclaimed duo's self-titled sophomore album, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. upon its release in August - far and away the duo's best single-week performance and their highest chart position to date (Sensibility Music/Columbia Records). The Civil Wars has also seen success internationally, debuting at #1 in Canada, #2 in the U.K. and #3 in Ireland.
In addition to this commercial success, the band is nominated for "Vocal Duo of the Year" at the 2013 CMA Awards, which will air live November 6 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC. Moreover, "Dust to Dust" will be featured prominently in a pivotal scene in the upcoming remake of "Carrie." The movie will be released by MGM and Sony Pictures on October 18.
The Civil Wars is the follow-up to the band's two-time Grammy-winning, RIAA Gold certified debut album, Barton Hollow. Released to widespread critical praise, Rolling Stone asserts, "…no pop act makes outsize romantic dysfunction sound as extravagantly pretty as the Civil Wars," while Billboard describes it as "impressive," and Ann Powers of NPR Music calls it, "…powerful, rewarding music." Additionally, USA Today declares "The One That Got Away," as a "…bluesy, pining single" and Entertainment Weekly asserts, "a crackling, morose blues-rock ballad…that swells with moments of fury."
