The City of Wilton Manors Presents The 23rd Annual Island City Canoe Race
WILTON MANORS, Fla., Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Time to dust off your paddles, bragging rights for the 23rd Annual Island City Canoe Race are up for grabs.

On May 17, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., teams of 10 people per team [two people per canoe] will cast their paddles into the water, paddling as fast as possible in a 7-mile race around Wilton Manors, Florida.
"The Island City Canoe Race is a fun, legendary event that showcases the camaraderie and unity among the residents, businesses and organizations of our Island City as they submerge themselves in the natural beauty of our parks and waterways," said Mayor Gary Resnick.
The race is a relay, with stops located at or near some of Wilton Manors' other waterfront parks. Afterwards there will be a brief awards ceremony celebrating the success and participation. The cost to enter per team is $150. Colohatchee Park is located at 1975 NE 15th Avenue, Wilton Manors. Richardson Historic Park and Nature Preserve is located at 1937 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors.
