Every third Friday of the month at 7 p.m., city staff members at Hagen Park will set up the big screen and play a different movie for children, parents and movie lovers alike -- absolutely free.
"Wilton Manors is a family-friendly place with lots of fun activities, including a free movie in the community center," said Mayor Gary Resnick.
This month's movie, "The NeverEnding Story," is playing on Friday, February 21, 2014.
Based on the book of the same name, "The NeverEnding Story" is about Bastian Bux who, while hiding in his school's attic, reads "The NeverEnding Story" and follows the adventures of Atreyu and his horse, Artax, as they ride to save Fantasia and the Empress from The Nothing. Released in 1984, "The Never Ending Story" is rated PG and is 102 minutes long.
To ensure all enjoy the total movie experience, candy, popcorn, pizza, juice, water, soda and other delicious snacks will be available for purchase at the concession stand. Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult and movies are subject to change.
Free movie events are also scheduled for March 21st, April 18th and May 16th. The community center in Hagen Park is located behind Wilton Manors City Hall at 2020 Wilton Drive. For more information, please call the Leisure Services Department at 954-390-2130.
