"We are extremely excited to kick off the inaugural season of the Wilton Manors Coed Adult Kickball League at the new Mickel Park," said Scott Holloway, Wilton Manors Program & Facility Supervisor. "This new kickball league is about having fun with members of the community and keeping our residents active and healthy."
According to Health.gov, physically active adults are healthier and less likely to develop chronic diseases than less active adults.
The Coed Adult Kickball League is for adults 18 and older. Games will be held on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. at Mickel Park. All games last seven innings or 55 minutes. The seven-game season will feature single elimination playoffs, and championship prizes are awarded to the winning teams.
"Our goal is to provide a variety of enriching programs at Mickel Park for residents of all ages, from kids to adults and seniors. We want to encourage the community to take advantage of all that this newly-renovated park has to offer," said Holloway. "The adult kickball league is a great start, and we hope to build off the participation in kickball to open up the doors to other leagues."
Registrations for the Coed Adult Kickball League are being accepted at Hagen Park Community Center, 2020 Wilton Drive. The cost is $35 per player or $350 per team (10 players per team). Each team must consist of at least three women or three men. Team captains will receive an official league rulebook to share with their team prior to opening night.
