CHICAGO, July 5, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), a leading nonprofit, private university devoted exclusively to psychology, and behavioral health services, recently launched eight new programs across all four of its campuses in Southern California, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Online. The new programs, both masters and doctoral degree levels, are currently accepting applications from students interested in starting as early as Fall 2017.
Online Campus
- Master of Health Services Administration. This degree prepares graduates for careers in health services management in several sectors, including hospitals, mental health organizations and nursing homes. The curriculum for the program is competency-focused, and incorporates evidence-based practice, research, business, and practical courses designed to meet the needs of the ever-changing health sectors. Student grants are available. The department chair is Marianne Jankowski, D.H.Sc.
- M.S. Clinical Psychopharmacology. Prospective students for the program must be licensed or license-eligible clinical psychologists who are interested in acquiring prescription privileges and working collaboratively with physicians to address the mental health prescription needs of clients as more states pass laws giving prescriptive authority to psychologists. Student grants are available. The department chair is Gerardo Rodriquez-Menendez, Ph.D., ABPP, MSCP.
Southern California (San Diego)
- M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis. Graduates of the program are prepared to work in several areas, including with children with autism or developmental disabilities; special and general education programs; and in residential and day treatment settings. The program equips students with the education and training required to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)®. The department chair is Leslie Morrison, Ph.D.
- M.A. Clinical Psychology, Marital and Family Therapy Specialization. Graduates of the program will be prepared to apply expert knowledge in interpersonal relationships as therapists to individuals and families in a wide-range of settings, including, private practice, employee assistance programs and social service agencies. Graduates will also be qualified to sit for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) MFT licensure exam and they may also qualify for the BBS Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor exam. The interim department chair is Jennifer DeFeo, Ph.D.
- M.A. Clinical Psychology, Marital and Family Therapy Specialization, Applied Behavior Analysis Track. The program offers a unique opportunity for students who are interested in working with couples, families and individuals as a marriage and family therapist, and with individuals with developmental disabilities. Graduates from this program will be qualified to sit for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) MFT licensure exam and they may also qualify for the BBS Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor exam, and will meet the degree and coursework requirement for certification as a BCBA®. The department co-chairs are Dr. Jennifer DeFeo and Dr. Leslie Morrison.
- Psy.D. Applied Clinical Psychology. Aligning with degree requirements for licensure as a psychologist in California, the post-master's degree program offers students a multitude of opportunities to apply their education in real-world settings. Graduates of the program are qualified to work as psychologists in several settings, including private practice, hospitals, and community mental health centers. The department chair is Sean K. Sterling, Ph.D., ABPP.
Chicago Campus
- Psy.D. School Psychology. Combining The Chicago School's National Association of School Psychologists-approved Ed.S. curriculum with additional coursework, internship and dissertation requirements, the program prepares students for licensure as both school psychologists and clinical psychologists in Illinois. The department chair is James Walsh, Ph.D.
Washington, D.C.
- Ed.S. School Psychology. The majority of graduates with this degree work as school psychologists in public school settings. Other primary places of employment are private schools, community agencies, hospitals, and clinics. The program aligns with degree, coursework and supervised experience requirements for eligibility for a School Service Provider credential as a school psychologist in Washington, D.C. and with requirements for corresponding license/certificate in Virginia and Maryland. The department chair is Eleazar Eusebio, Psy.D.
