Volunteers were divided into teams to tackle improvement projects at the teaching facility including building picnic tables and garden boxes, painting, landscaping, and refreshing the computer lab. In addition, to support personal and professional development for the students, volunteers conducted mock interviews to help them prepare for their job search. While many volunteers participated onsite, several other donors generously contributed technology including tablets, desktop computers and digital cameras, as well as monetary contributions to support the ongoing success of the program. Donors included APC, Carbonite, D-Link, Dell PartnerDirect, Eaton, Global Convergence, Intronis, Juniper Networks, McAfee an Intel Company, Microsoft, Reflexion, Samsung, StorageCraft and Unitrends.
According to Eric Martorano, General Manager, US Partner Sales, Microsoft, "This event was one of the most inspiring – to help kids build confidence, learn new skills and think about the future in a positive way was meaningful to everyone involved. We are grateful to all the volunteers who contributed to the success of this project.
