The CementBloc Wins a Gold and 2 Bronzes at the 2013 CLIO Healthcare Awards
NEW YORK, Dec. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The CementBloc was awarded 4 CLIO Healthcare Awards, including a Gold CLIO.
The Gold CLIO is in the digital category, for a website The Bloc created on behalf of Girls Right of Way (GROW), a nonprofit grassroots organization that helps at-risk girls realize their full potential. The Bloc built an umbrella identity to bring together GROW's various programs, which include shoe donation, HIV prevention, peer counseling workshops, reading centers, and a youth orchestra.
"We are thrilled to be recognized by the CLIO Healthcare Awards, especially for doing work that is not only outstanding creatively but positively affects young girls' lives. And watching them GROW into courageous, esteemed young women couldn't be more inspiring," said Elizabeth Elfenbein, Partner at The Bloc.
The Bloc also won 2 Bronze Healthcare CLIOs and a Finalist notification.
One Bronze award was for the Happy Fuel mobile app, part of a social network that lets users upload and share the photos, songs, places, sounds, and thoughts that make them happy, and gauge their own happiness in the process.
The other Bronze was for an iPad sales detail created for the ulcerative colitis medication Giazo. The detail challenged doctors' conventional approach to treating ulcerative colitis by focusing on the male patients who are famously reluctant to face their condition.
An integrated campaign for Giazo, which included print ads and a website in addition to the iPad detail, was also recognized as a Finalist in the awards.
"To win multiple Healthcare CLIOs is a milestone for the agency," added Stephanie Berman, also a Partner at The Bloc. "The fact that they are largely for digital work is particularly gratifying since that is an area where The Bloc has been growing at a rapid pace."
