BOSTON, Nov. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc. has been named by The Boston Globe as one of its 2017 Top Places to Work. Each year, the outlet partners with Workplace Dynamics of Exton, Pennsylvania (Energage LLC) to review and recognize leading Massachusetts employers based on employee feedback via an anonymous survey, as well as a host of criteria, such as company direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement.
The Globe invites thousands of employers to participate in the project each year, with a much smaller number determined as qualified to take part in final deliberation process. Winning employers are organized into four categories: small, medium, large and largest.
"Our winning companies are all in on a secret," said Katie Johnston, the Globe's Top Places to Work editor. "Treating employees well isn't that difficult, and the payoff – increased morale, retention, and productivity – is huge."
Takeda's Top Places to Work honor comes at a time of significant investment by the company in its Boston campus. In July 2016, the organization announced a strategic initiative to consolidate a portion of its global R&D presence and strategic emphasis in Oncology, GI and Neuroscience, in the Cambridge area. As a result, Takeda welcomed a large group of relocated scientists and other professionals from the U.S. and around the world, and continues to add to its diverse and talented workforce in the region.
"As one of the foremost healthcare and biotech hubs in the world, we believe Boston is an ideal environment to encourage bold thinking and innovation as Takeda employees continue to push boundaries and deliver medicines that represent real and meaningful benefits for patients," said Andy Plump, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical and Scientific Officer, Takeda. "It's an honor to be recognized by The Boston Globe and we're excited to be contributing to this vibrant community."
