The Boston Globe Names Curriculum Associates a Top Place to Work for 2017
Magazine honors the best employers in Massachusetts
NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., Nov. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Curriculum Associates has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the 10th annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe. The Top Places to Work 2017 issue was published online at Globe.com/topplaces on the night of November 16 and will be in The Boston Globe Magazine on November 19.
Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them the best—their employees. The survey measures employee opinions about their company's direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. The employers are placed into one of four groups: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 workers; large, with 250 to 999; and largest, with 1,000 or more.
Curriculum Associates was ranked #14 in the large category, moving up 5 spots from 2016.
Curriculum Associates is on a mission to help students and teachers succeed by making the classroom a better place. Leading the adoption of print and digital curriculum for more than 6 million K–12 students and 300,000 educators across the country, Curriculum Associates is one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry and has quintupled in size since 2012. The culture at Curriculum Associates is heavily tied to the company's mission to improve classrooms for students and teachers, and as a result, employees at every level are committed to making a true difference in education.
"As an organization that's been described as 'talent-obsessed,' we know our employees are our greatest asset. Their tireless dedication to our mission of serving classrooms has brought world-class instructional materials to more than 6 million students nationwide," said Rob Waldron, CEO of Curriculum Associates. "We're thrilled to receive this award for the fourth year in a row and look forward to continuing to serve our employees as one of Boston's top places to work."
"Our winning companies are all in on a secret," said Katie Johnston, the Globe's Top Places to Work editor. "Treating employees well isn't that difficult, and the payoff—increased morale, retention, and productivity–is huge."
The rankings in the Top Places to Work are based on confidential survey information collected by Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, from nearly 75,060 individuals at 334 Massachusetts organizations. The winners share a few key traits, including offering progressive benefits, giving their employees a voice, and encouraging them to have some fun while they're at it.
