NEW YORK, May 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Body Shop International have appointed New York-based British makeup artist Lisa Houghton as Global Makeup Artist. Lisa has established herself as a leading makeup artist in the past decade, gaining recognition for her effortless approach to beauty and her cutting-edge editorials.
Her work has appeared in American, Italian, French, British, German, Chinese, and Japanese Vogue, W Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, Self Service, Interview, Another Magazine, Dazed & Confused, i-D, V Magazine and Love.
Lisa grew up in East Sussex, England, the home of The Body Shop first ever store. Lisa has loved and used The Body Shop products since she was young and has a real affinity to the brand. Now living in NYC for the past 10 years, Lisa lives a healthy lifestyle and believes in the power of natural ingredients.
Lisa says, "I share some of the same roots as The Body Shop. I grew up in East Sussex near Brighton where The Body Shop opened its first store. The Body Shop was an important influence in my youth & like every girl growing up at the time we all had to have The Body Shop in our make-up bags. My very first lip pencil was by The Body Shop. I bought many many Birthday & Holiday gifts at my local store. I really love working with The Body Shop as it is so personal to me."
A highly sought-after creative force, Lisa has collaborated with designers in London, Paris, and New York, more recently Tadashi Shoji, Peter Pilotto, Cushnie Et Ochs, Theory and Derek Lam.
She has also worked with acclaimed photographers Glen Luchford, Terry Richardson, David Sims, Peter Lindbergh, Alasdair McLellan, Raymond Meier, Richard Burbridge, Patrick Demarchelier, Norman Jean Roy and Sølve Sundsbø.
Lisa will work with The Body Shop on product development, trends, creating seasonal looks – tutorial videos and digital content creations.
Lisa continues, "I feel so excited about working with The Body Shop. I love that the products have been produced with a 100% vegetarian formula without compromising the quality or colour pigments - quite an achievement. I want to bring the existing exceptional, extensive & versatile makeup range to the attention of a far wider audience who really care about the quality of their makeup & show the beautiful looks that can be achieved with this range."
"I love playing with the amazingly rich colour pigments. As a creative editorial & celebrity make up artist I always start with the best skin care preparation & then create beautiful, striking make up looks. Unlike many brands The Body Shop is 100% vegetarian skincare & make up perfect for all skin types. I love working with the Fresh Nude Foundation, it has a really beautiful dewy texture. Perfect for my signature dewy skin look."
Instagram – Lisa has become an internet sensation – with over 20K followers, Lisa's time lapse videos of her creating famous art replicas directly on her face have gone viral even having been publicised on page 3 of the NY Post, which resulted in Lisa's interview on Fox News and subsequently included in a positive mention on iconic current news show Saturday Night Live!
On a regular basis, she works with celebrities for print and the red carpet.
