The Bipartisan Policy Center Welcomes Former Senator Bob Bennett

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is pleased to announce the addition of former Utah Senator Bob Bennett.  Senator Bennett joins the BPC as a Senior Fellow after serving six terms in the U.S. Senate.  In this role, Senator Bennett will work on the BPC's Democracy Project, as well as energy, health and budget issues.

Senator Bennett served in Congress for 18 years from 1993-2011.  During that time, Senator Bennett served on a number of committees including, Energy and Natural Resources; Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; Appropriations; and Rules.  During his last term, Senator Bennett worked with Senator Ron Wyden to develop health care reform legislation that received bipartisan support.

Senator Bennett is one of many former Members who have recently joined the BPC as Senior Fellows.  This bipartisan group includes former Senator Pete Domenici, former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, former Secretary of Agriculture and Congressman Dan Glickman, and former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott.
