The nominees are in for the EyeforTravel Mobile Innovation in Travel Awards 2016, and Reykjavik-based travel website Dohop is taking on the giants.

Founded in 2011, the awards recognise travel brands who experiment with, and push forward, mobile technology to engage customers and improve the travel experience. Previous winners and finalists include KLM, TripAdvisor, Marriott, and Hotels.com.
Dohop are up for Best Mobile User Experience, and Best Mobile App, facing off against the likes of American Airlines, Hilton and Easyjet.
The Dohop app is nominated in the Best Mobile App category. Allowing travellers to find and list cheap flights from their closest airports, the app makes travelling on a budget easier and quicker, bringing spontaneity and adventure to those on a budget.
The Dohop website is nominated for Best Mobile User Experience. It has been responsive since 2012, with a fanbase growing year on year. In January this year, 47% of visitors accessed the website on mobile devices, up by 11% from 2015.
Voting closes at midnight PST on 19th February 2016, and will count for 50% of the decision on the finalists in each category. A panel of judges complete the decision and the top three brands will then go forward to the final, to be held on 14th March 2016 in San Francisco.
