The Beck Group to Present "Transforming Mid-20th Century Buildings for 21st Century Campuses" at COAA 2012 Fall Conference
ATLANTA, Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Beck Group, along with Lord, Aeck & Sargent and the Georgia Institute of Technology, will present "Transforming Mid-20th Century Buildings for 21st Century Campuses Utilizing Advanced BIM Technology" at this year's Construction Owners Association of America (COAA) Fall Owners Leadership Conference. The presentation will explore two topics of increasing relevance to today's college campuses: how to respond to a diverse legacy of mid-20th century buildings; and how to employ rapidly evolving design technology to optimize the preservation and adaptive reuse of structures meriting "a second or third career." Prominently featured will be the sustainable rehabilitation of a 1939 Georgia Tech high bay mechanical engineering lab into an exciting new studio environment for the university's College of Architecture.
