The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project™ Returns For Its Ninth Year Of Keeping America's Beaches "Barefoot friendly"
A Day of Fun in the Sun with Barefoot Wine & the Surfrider Foundation
MODESTO, Calif., May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Barefoot Wine & Bubbly proudly announces the ninth year of its Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, a partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, a grassroots, nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches. Since 2007, the Project has donated more than $1,000,000 to the Surfrider Foundation and traveled from coast-to-coast, hosting more than 130 cleanup events. With the help of 10,000 volunteers, the Project has removed more than 14 tons of litter and debris from our waterways in an effort to keep America's beaches "Barefoot friendly."
This summer, the Project will visit 12 beaches and rivers across the country where local community members can lend a hand – and a foot! – to improve the state of their local shores. Afterwards, volunteers will be invited to an appreciation celebration organized by the Surfrider Foundation.
"We're incredibly proud of the work we've done the past eight years," said Anli Zhang from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. "Supporting communities around the country is at the core of who we are at Barefoot, and we're thrilled to spend another summer cleaning beaches with Surfrider, an organization equally passionate about making the world a better place."
