"MADD's Power of Parents program equips parents and caregivers with easy-to-use information on starting an ongoing conversation with their kids about the dangers of underage drinking," said Withers. "It was great to have the opportunity to talk about this important topic with Danielle and Ken, two people who share MADD's commitment to keeping our children safe."
Withers joined MADD in 1992, after her 15-year-old daughter, Alisa Joy, was killed by an underage drunk driver. In the upcoming segment, Jan tells the story of her loss and offers research-proven tips for how to have a conversation with your teens that can reduce their risk of drinking by up to 30 percent.
The segment will air on April 17th on "The Balancing Act" on Lifetime Television at 7 a.m. (ET/PT).
