LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Aura Group, a full-service advertising agency specializing in interactive engagement solutions, multi-channel branding, and specialized web development, today announced that after 19 months, it has won a patent infringement lawsuit initiated by rival Interpolls (aka Interpols Network, Inc).

Despite an aggressive campaign by Interpolls to intimidate and dissuade The Aura Group and its clients, United States Federal District Court Judge, James Selna agreed with Aura that its movie showtimes and ticketing platform, known as MovieConnect™, did not infringe Interpolls' patents.
"We're naturally quite pleased with the outcome," said The Aura Group CEO, David Bailey, "We have been expanding the capabilities of MovieConnect™ and it's nice to be able to focus on that more." Mr. Bailey added, "It's unfortunate that patent holders can assert claims without any evidence, and use the full power of the U.S. judicial system to make you spend countless hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend against bogus allegations."
In addition to the lawsuit, during the course of the case, Interpolls initiated negative campaigns against The Aura Group, targeting MovieConnect™ clients in an effort to win over its business.
The Aura Group was represented by attorneys Joseph Re and Marko Zoretic of Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, based in Irvine, California.
"We're delighted with the ruling," said Mr. Zoretic. "We knew all along that there wasn't much to Interpolls' claims and it was great to see the Court agreed."
