The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) and Taskstream Partner to Advance Meaningful Assessment
The two organizations join forces in support of their common mission to improve student learning through effective assessment practices
LEXINGTON, Ky., May 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Focused on a common mission to improve student learning, the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) and Taskstream, the leading assessment management and e-portfolio provider for higher education, have formed a multi-year collaborative partnership to advance the field of learning assessment.
AALHE is a non-profit organization with over 600 members that is committed to providing professional development and advancing effective assessment practices in higher education. Over 500 institutions use Taskstream's software for assessment.
"Taskstream has proven themselves to be more than a software provider. We saw a real alignment in our organizations to advance the practice of assessment – an area that is of critical and growing importance to the future of higher education," said Dr. Tara Rose, President of AALHE. "We share the belief that this collaboration will be mutually beneficial for our organizations and higher education more broadly."
Through this partnership, AALHE and Taskstream strive to advance assessment within higher education in several ways, including the following:
- Growing the AALHE membership and Annual Conference
- Conducting research on current assessment practices and trends
- Producing resources for assessment practitioners and institutions
"We have a great deal of respect for AALHE and the leadership it provides for the assessment community," said Webster Thompson, President of Taskstream. "Like AALHE, we believe in the strategic value of assessment to improve student learning and institutional effectiveness. Working together, we think we can make a greater impact on the field and help more institutions benefit from meaningful, effective assessment than we can through our technology and services alone."
The 2016 AALHE Annual Conference, "Assessing What We Value: A Focus on Student Learning," is scheduled from June 6-8, 2016 at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More information on the event can be found here: http://www.aalhe.org/events/annual-conference/2016-annual-conference/
