The Art Of Boatbuilding: Annual Boatbuilders Event Shows Art Of Boats Via Amazing Craftsmen
HYANNIS, Mass., Jan. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The ninth Annual Boatbuilders' Show on Cape Cod, "the best little boat show in the Northeast," returns February 6-8, 2015 to the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis. During the past eight years, more than 22,000 people have visited the show for the opportunity to see an amazing selection of unique, custom and limited-production boats in wood and fiberglass. The unique boat show focuses on smaller builders of custom and limited production boats. Boaters looking for something other than off-the-rack, production boats will discover more than 50 exhibitors and a large variety of custom-built sail and powerboats on display under one roof. For more information, pictures and directions please visit the Facebook page (Boatbuilders Show on Cape Cod) or visit www.boatcapecod.org.
"Buyers looking for the kind of craftsmanship and unique design usually found only on large production boats have few opportunities to touch, go on board and compare workmanship and features from a variety of builders," according to Scott Dayton, of Hyannis Marina, a key organizer of the Boatbuilders Show. "Every visitor has the chance to talk directly with the individual who will construct the particular boat they are interested in and discuss details of the build process with extremely talented craftspeople."
The show presents a "family" of builders, passionate and proud of the boats they build. Dayton continues, "A recent visitor described the boats as 'launchable art,' as many of the designs are traditional and timeless. Boats meant to be on the water. Boats that you can't take your eyes off of."
Whether you are considering having a boat built for you, just looking, or looking to escape the winter gray for a few hours, the show promises a unique boating experience with beautifully crafted pleasure boats to whet your appetite for the summer ahead. Admission is $5. Children under 12 are free. Parking is free. Show hours are Friday from 2PM to 7PM, Saturday 10AM to 6PM, and Sunday 10AM to 4PM.
The show is presented by the Cape Cod Marine Trades Association, an organization of almost 100 marine-related businesses dedicated to growing boating on Cape Cod and the Islands.
