"These are just a couple of the exciting fundraising events we're holding this year so we can help the John Theurer Cancer Center raise awareness about women's health issues, celebrate survivorship, honor those who have lost their battle, and fight these life threatening diseases."
Proceeds from both events benefit Women's Health at the John Theurer Cancer Center. Since its inception in 2003, the Angels of Hope Foundation has raised more than $900,000 for the John Theurer Cancer Center. The New Jersey-based network of volunteers is dedicated to raising funds to create awareness about women's health issues including breast, ovarian, cervical, colon and uterine cancers.
"We are extremely grateful for the contributions by the Angels of Hope Foundation to help us make cancer treatment at our facility a better experience for women," said Andrew Pecora, M.D., F.A.C.P., C.P.E., Chairman and Executive Administrative Director, the John Theurer Cancer Center.
During the past year, the Angels of Hope Foundation has been working closely with the women's division to create a beautiful waiting area where cancer patients can feel at ease before their appointments. The funding will also be used for monthly cancer education programs focused on prevention and managing treatment. The new cancer center will open the new waiting room and launch these initiatives in January 2011.
