MIDLAND, Mich., Sept. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- KidDomain invites girls, their friends and families to The American Girl Fashion Show™ on Saturday, October 10 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Sunday, October 11 at 2 p.m. at Midland Center for the Arts, 1801 W. St. Andrews Rd., Midland, MI. This fun, engaging program showcases historical and contemporary fashions for girls and their dolls.
Now in its fifth year at MCFTA, The American Girl Fashion Show has allowed over 500 girls from across the region to gain confidence through participating as models, and raised $60,500 for youth-impacting causes addressing childhood hunger, health and wellness, safety, arts education, STEM education initiatives and leadership development.
Proceeds from this year's event will benefit Alpha Kappa Alpha's youth enrichment programs: 1908 Playgrounds (ensuring children have safe and inviting places to play by restoring and renewing 1,908 existing community and school playgrounds) and 1 Million Backpacks (donating and distributing 1 million backpacks and related school supplies to students over a four-year period) as well as MCFTA's Art from the Heart Scholarship Fund (assisting with art class tuition and tickets to cultural events).
In October, over 150 local models will present the fashions, while lively commentary, music, and decorations create a memorable experience for girls and their families. Audiences will delight in historical clothing, from daywear to sleepwear to special-occasion clothing that resembles what the popular American Girl characters Kaya, Josefina, Addy, Samantha, Rebecca, Kit, Maryellen and Julie might have worn. Contemporary outfits for older girls and sweet "Bitty Baby" fashions for Little Girls complete the 2-hour program. Best for ages 6 and up.
Tickets are $30 per person. Visit www.mcfta.org.
