CHICAGO, Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Julie A. Holloway, D.D.S., M.S., F.A.C.P., was confirmed as Treasurer of the American College of Prosthodontists on Friday, Oct. 11, at the ACP Annual Awards & President's Dinner during the College's 43rd Annual Session in Las Vegas held on Oct. 9 to Oct. 12. An active Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, Dr. Holloway received the ACP Clinician/Researcher Award in 2011.

Dr. Holloway received her D.D.S. degree cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry as well as completed the three-year graduate program in Advanced Prosthodontics and earned her M.S. degree. Dr. Holloway served as faculty at Ohio State and directed the graduate residency program in advanced prosthodontics from 2004-2011, first as Associate Director then as Director, winning several teaching and research awards during her tenure. She was then recruited to direct the graduate residency program in advanced prosthodontics at The University of Iowa, where she now serves as the Department of Prosthodontics Departmental Executive Officer. She maintains a practice limited to prosthodontics, with emphasis on ceramic and implant restorations.
Dr. Holloway's research focuses on materials sciences. She lectures nationally and internationally on porcelain strengthening mechanisms and the fatigue fracture mechanics of dental implant materials. As well as serving as current ACP Treasurer, Dr. Holloway is the President of The American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and Immediate Past President of the Carl O. Boucher Prosthodontic Conference.
